About the Opportunity

A leading bank in South Africa is seeking an experienced and qualified Private Banker to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in investments, corporate finance, and private banking to provide tailored financial solutions to high-net-worth clients.

Role Overview

As a Private Banker, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high-net-worth clients by providing exceptional financial and investment advice. This role includes analyzing complex financial structures, developing customized lending and investment solutions, and advising on succession planning and wealth management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of high-net-worth clients.
  • Provide expert financial advice, including investment management, trust and estate planning, and risk management.
  • Analyze and interpret complex personal and juristic financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Structure and manage non-traditional, security-based lending facilities.
  • Develop and implement tailored solutions for families with significant wealth.
  • Advise clients on company succession planning and cross-jurisdictional financial matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with capital markets trends and regulatory developments.
  • Build strong client relationships through regular communication and personalized service.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Relevant degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
    • FAIS accreditation required (RE 5).
    • 3 to 5 years of client-facing experience.
    • Proven ability to analyze and interpret financial statements and ratios.
    • Experience in structuring lending facilities and providing investment advice.

      Preferred Skills

      • Certificate in Financial Planning.
      • Strong understanding of capital markets, investment management, and risk management.
      • Experience in private banking or advisory services.
      • Knowledge of trust and estate planning.
      • Ability to manage clients and structures across multiple jurisdictions.
      • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills.
