As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing the company’s IT environment, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with business needs.
As the Senior Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, and optimization of the company’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, and cloud environments. You will ensure robust cybersecurity protocols, implement and maintain disaster recovery plans, and guarantee system reliability and business continuity. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will also assist IT support teams on complex technical issues and help define policies and procedures to maintain secure and efficient IT operations.
- Implement security software, conduct regular audits, manage user access, and educate staff on security best practices.
- Administer and optimize LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, firewalls, servers (Windows/Linux/Virtual).
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
- Implement and maintain regular backups, test restores, document processes, and develop and test disaster recovery/business continuity plans.
- Manage software licensing, maintain vendor relationships, and stay current on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Support IT support teams on complex issues, contribute to policy development, and ensure adherence to IT operational protocols.
| Required Skills and Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or Cisco CCNA.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT infrastructure maintenance and system administration.
- Strong knowledge of network administration (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, wireless).
- Proficiency with Windows Server, Linux/Unix, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Experience with SQL backups, Microsoft Azure, and cybersecurity principles.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Experience with backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Acronis) and disaster recovery planning.
- Knowledge of monitoring and management tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, Zabbix) and scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and policy implementation for secure, efficient IT operations.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple teams.
- Ability to stay ahead of industry trends and incorporate emerging technologies.
